Join the Illustration Course
Do you love to draw? Do you love looking at the illustrations in your favorite books? Have you ever dreamed of illustrating a story yourself, or maybe you’ve already created your own comics or characters?
Now is your chance to dive into the world of book illustration!
In this fun and creative course, you’ll learn how to illustrate a picture book from start to finish, from designing characters and experimenting with colors and materials to planning your pages and creating a full storyboard. You’ll explore different illustration styles and discover your own way of bringing stories to life. This isn’t a writing course; we’ll work with existing stories and fairy tales, so you can fully focus on your art!
In this course, you will learn to…
✅ design characters
✅ tell a story through images
✅ understand the power of colors, composition, and perspective
✅ experiment with different materials and techniques
✅ create a storyboard
✅ make a final illustration for a picture book
By the end of the course, you’ll have one or two finished illustrations, a storyboard, and plenty of knowledge and inspiration, ready to bring your creative ideas to life!
Meet Your Teacher
Brigit Hoogenberk will guide you through every step of the process. With extensive experience in teaching and children’s book illustration, she knows how to bring stories to life! For the first lesson: Bring your favorite picture book! If you have a story you’d like to illustrate during the course, feel free to bring that too.

Become a watercolorist!
Dive into the fun and colorful world of watercolor with our art course for teenagers! It’s the perfect spot for you to learn about painting, experiment with colors, and create your own art. Over four exciting sessions, you’ll get to explore what it means to be a watercolor artist and make some beautiful pieces to share.
What we will be doing during the course of 4 lessons:
- Learn the Basics: We’ll cover the simple things first, like how to use your brush, mix colors, and make smooth strokes.
- Color and Light Fun: Discover how colors and light can make your paintings stand out and look amazing.
- Textures and Patterns: Learn how to add interesting textures and patterns to your work for that extra special touch.
- Make It Yours: Every lesson is a chance for you to express yourself and create something unique.

Get Creative with Gouache!
Step into the colorful and expressive world of gouache in our engaging four-session workshop! Specially designed for teens, this course will introduce you to everything you need to know about gouache, a unique paint known for its rich texture and ability to rework. Through 1 hour and 45 minutes per session, you’ll learn how to control its thickness, mix vibrant colors, and bring your artistic visions to life. Each class is a chance to explore, play, and create with this fantastic medium, ending with a personal piece of art you’ll be proud to show off. Whether you’re starting out or expanding your art skills, our gouache workshop is a great place to let your creativity flow!

Color Theory Intensive course!
Join our two-day intensive art course designed for teens eager to master color theory! Over the course of two 5-hour days we will dive deep into colors, temperatures and atmosphere of artwork. You’ll explore the fascinating world of color, learn how to mix hues and shades like a pro, and set up a color palette to express your emotions. Whether you’re looking to understand the science of colors or unleash your creativity, this workshop will guide you in creating your own masterpiece. Get ready for a vibrant journey through the spectrum!
About the tutors
Meet Brigit!
Brigit Hoogenberk, a Dutch illustrator, has a genuine passion for mixed media art. Her lifelong interest in drawing and painting has been a constant companion, enriching her journey through Industrial Design Engineering studies. With a solid foundation in various design methods and skills, she acquired a teacher’s degree, which led her to teach a Research and Design course in high school for over ten years. Brigit finds joy and fulfillment in mentoring students, guiding them through the design process. Working with young people ensures that no day is the same!
Since 2017, Brigit has been building her reputation as an illustrator. She celebrated a key achievement with the publication of “Kikkers in de klas” (“Frogs in the Classroom”) in 2021; a Dutch children’s book containing her illustrations. Following this success, Brigit moved to Oslo, Norway, where she decided to fully embrace her art and illustration journey, transitioning from her teaching role to focus on her art practice. Her work is characterized by a love for storytelling and creating new worlds through her illustrations. She mainly uses watercolor, gouache, ink, and pencils, and occasionally incorporates acrylic and oil paints to broaden her artistic exploration.
In her workshops Brigit seeks to share the joy of creation. She believes in nurturing the creative spirit and hopes to inspire her students to explore the vast possibilities of their own imaginations.


Meet Kasia!
Kasia Wiercinska is an artist specializing in the watercolor technique. Her passion for art bloomed in early childhood and has steadily grown over the years. The artist pursued professional training in watercolour painting during her residency in New Zealand in years 2019 – 2020. Before that, she graduated from architectural studies, where she acquired a solid foundation in drawing, painting, and creative thinking, which became the basis for her further development.
She became a tutor for watercolour art and sketching in 2020, working in an art studio in New Zealand. She was also a voluntary art tutor in art therapy studio, giving tutoring to people with people with intellectual disabilities.
Currently residing in Oslo, Norway, Kasia Wiercinska continues her artistic journey and actively contributes to the local artistic community. She is widely appreciated as a watercolour instructor, conducting workshops for both beginners and advanced artists. She is also a leader of Norway for international watercolour festival “Fabriano in Acquarello” in Italy, one of the admins of Urban Sketchers Oslo, and a founder of Akvarell Atelier – centre for watercolour art in Oslo. She exhibited her artworks and gave tutoring to many art enthusiasts around the world, including Norway, New Zealand, Italy, Poland, England, USA, France and Vietnam.
